Walnut Grove

The students had a wonderful trip to Walnut Grove to learn about the history and life of South Carolina families of the 1700s. Students were able to bring home candles as a memento of their visit to the beautiful plantation. 

Boosterthon Fun Run!

We had such a great time running laps to raise money for our great school! The Boosterthon Fun Run really motivated the students and encouraged them to raise money while also teaching them great skills for being a good friend. Camp High Five helped our class to raise over $600 dollars! Thank you for the support that every parent showed for their student and for Oakland.

The class did a fantastic job running up to 39 laps! 

Red Ribbon Week

Red Ribbon Week helped motivate the student to stay drug free throughout their lives! Thanks to every student that showed support of this great cause through dressing up! To end our week, we had some great role models from Boiling Springs High School come to talk to us about living a healthy lifestyle. 

A big thanks to these guys for coming to encourage our class about eating right, sleeping for at least 8 hours, and getting plenty of exercise.  We had a lot of fun! 

South Carolina Regions Research!

Our class has been able to study in the library for our South Carolina Regions Project.  The students were able to use iPads, informational text, and tourist pamphlets from the major cities in South Carolina to conduct their research. 

The students had so much fun working with Mrs. Kanipe! 

The students did some great research, but we aren't finished yet! Our ongoing research will be continued through this school year. Thanks Mrs. Kanipe for helping us research!
